Description

An Elegantly Modern Water Fountain

The Tranquility Sphere 3-Tier Fountain by Massarelli is as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the ears. Featuring a beautifully sculpted concrete sphere finial, the cascading waters and symmetry of the fountain design create beautiful focal points on all sides.

Enjoy the meditative look and durability of this 568-pound cast stone concrete fountain. Includes pump.

Other Tranquility Series Fountains:

Relax to Sounds of Cascading Water

Water bubbles from the center of the sphere and cascades to the lower pool via scuppers (i.e., slits in the concrete) that produce a stronger sound than smooth surfaced fountains. The cascading waters of the Tranquility Sphere 3-Tier Fountain are ideal to help hide street noise.

Choose from the full range of Massarelli's color finishes to compliment your existing garden décor. Your concrete fountain will fit perfectly into locations that include:

➤ Patio, Garden, Courtyard, Gazebo, Lawn, Porch, Entryway, Rock Garden, Pathway, Flower Bed.

About Natural. A garden ornament ordered in the "Natural" color is unstained concrete straight from the mold and buffed to remove rough spots. In addition to being low maintenance and the easiest to clean, Natural is preferred by customers who want to encourage moss growth and intentionally age the piece to begin resembling an old-world European ornament within a couple of seasons. For a raw look with a finish applied, consider "Old Stone."

Why You'll Love It

  • Self-Contained & Low Maintenance: No plumbing hookup required

Fountain Safety

Traditional fountains have no interlocking components and are held together by gravity. Gluing/cementing parts together is not recommended as they may need to be dismantled to replace the pump, hardware, or to relocate the fountain.

⚠️ CAUTION: Excessive weight or pressure on a concrete fountain may cause it to fall. Keep children & others from climbing, sitting, or leaning on the fountain.

Placements

Benches

Nestle into pea gravel for the ultimate support. Otherwise, any stable surface will work.

Birdbaths - Statuary - Planters

Nestle into pea gravel for the ultimate support. Otherwise, any stable surface will work.

A Massarelli foundation will provide solid support when needed.

Fountains

Non-basin tiered fountains

  • A concrete fountain must be placed on a level and firm surface and not raised off the ground more than the inch or two that would occur if using a foundation.
  • A Massarelli foundation slab will additionally help prevent unplanned erosion from the weather, sprinkler system, and fountain splash.
  • For both safety and optimal performance, do not place fountain on a pedestal or riser, unless included as part of the fountain design.

Wall Fountains

  • If recessing the fountain into a wall or structure, use professional contractors who understand concrete expansion principles and the required joint spacing and materials to help with the buildup of stress when concrete naturally expands and contracts seasonally.
  • Wall fountains should be secured to a wall with galvanized wire, chain, etc. whenever possible.

Basin/Pond Fountains

  • Massarelli pool-style fountains generally work best on either a 4" concrete slab or 6" of pea gravel (or crushed rock). Call us with any questions.

Care & Cold Weather State Guidance

While high-density cast stone concrete is designed to produce a strong and durable product, proper maintenance is recommended to protect our product from the freeze-thaw cycles that occur in winter.

Any piece which can hold water, snow or ice, (e.g., fountain top or bowl, birdbath, planter, saucer) AND any piece placed directly onto the ground surface (e.g., statue, fountain/birdbath base, planter, bench leg) can potentially be damaged by the winter freeze-thaw cycles if proper steps are not taken.

The Mark of Craftsmanship

  • From warm earth tones to stately shades of stone, and from subtle antique hues to classic bronzes – the selection is inspiring, the possibilities are endless.
  • Massarelli's finishes are specially formulated to enhance with the passage of time as they patina from exposure to the elements and conditions around them.
  • Remember: these color finishes are stains – not paint. Stains are formulated to enhance and complement the hand-sculpted concrete, not hide it! It’s natural for the cast stone to show through in parts.

Massarelli's finishes are another testament to the true beauty of products handcrafted by the Massarelli family for more than 50 years.

Color Representation

  • Products are photographed in a variety of settings, including natural and artificial lighting.
  • When viewed in person, the actual color, shape, size and texture of products will vary from those shown on color medallions and in catalogs, promotional materials, digital screens and online as every single product is handcrafted and painted.
  • Curing time, the weather on the day the finish is applied, and material textures all determine the unique outcome of each finish.

These factors add to the uniqueness and authenticity of your product! No two are alike, and variations are normal.

There are no warranties on applied finishes or guarantee that a finish will exactly match a color medallion or media photography.

Neighbors say it looks great, I must agree!

The picture says it all.

What a lovely placement! We especially love the care and creativity that went into the landscaping that surrounds the fountain. Thanks for the post. Enjoy!

Perfect addition to our yard

We are delighted with the fountain. Due to the size and weight of the components, the shipping crate seemed unmanageable at first. Three of us moved it to the location with a wheelbarrow. We assembled it in about 30 minutes.

Again, I am very happy and enjoying the sound of tranquility.

Fantastic! Thanks for the review and photo. Sandy Buff is a perfect accent color for that space, and we're thrilled you had assistance in getting it setup so quickly!

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Have a few questions: Does this fountain break down into pieces or is it one piece? I am guessing a 24" concrete base would work. How thick is the base? Since there is not plumbing, I am guessing it is re-circulating. How often do I need to refill? Where does the pump go or is it internal? Lastly will all I need is an outside outlet to run? Thank you.

    See below:

    -  All cast stone concrete fountains are shipped unassembled; each piece is individually wrapped on the pallet. The heaviest piece of #3696 is the lowest bowl, which weighs approximately 220 lbs.

    - The 24" size concrete slab works well with this model. It is 2" thick as stated in its description.

    - Refill frequency will depend entirely on the wind and sun conditions in your area. All of our cast stone concrete fountains are self-circulating and can be refilled with a garden hose when needed. Note the guidance on our Cleaning & Care page if you live in an area known for hard water, as there are extra considerations the artisans suggest.

    - The pump is hidden inside of a "pump house" in the bottom bowl and is made of concrete and stained in the same color as the rest of the fountain. This way, the pump isn't visible should someone stand at the fountain and look into the bowl.

    - The pump simply requires is a standard 3-pronged, 120v outlet. It is its own component and has a 15-foot power cord as stated in the Specs table.
