Description

Surface Protection in Natural Form

Shaped by nature. Perfected by hand. The Limestone Fire Pit Base from Fire Pit Art features a unique yellow and brown swirled appearance from iron stains and natural weathering.

Formed over centuries in only one place on earth – the Cumberland Plateau – Crab Orchard stone is an especially hard, weather resistant variety of sandstone due to unusually high concentrations of silica.

Striking Color Formations

The stone’s exclusive buff, tan, blue-gray and pink colors were formed thanks to a combination of iron, titanium and magnesium. The yellow and brown swirls that give the stone its one-of-a-kind appearance come from iron stains and natural weathering.

Dimensions:
approx. 32"L x 31"W x 1" to 3" thick
Dimensions may vary slightly. Due to naturally occurring variations in colored stone, each slab will have its own unique pattern and shade.

Why You'll Love It

  • Premium Material: Variegated limestone flagstone
  • Versatile Placement: Place on a deck, patio, or any surface where you want protection from fire pit heat

Do Not Tarp Your Fire Pit

A tarp will cause the patina to blacken and stop the oxidation process.  In many cases, the color of the tarp will transfer to the new steel.

During the maturing process keep wet leaves and debris off the piece until the steel matures. Allow the piece to mature with each fire.

      Art Sculptures You Can Use

Fire Pit Art was born out of a bad experience by its founder – Rick Wittrig purchased a fire pit from a box retail store that subsequently fell apart and set his yard on fire!

Manufactured in Tennessee, the precision cut products from Fire Pit Art are regarded as among the highest quality in the world, and have even been used in a Winter Olympics Village.

You might also spot their fire pits at Dollywood or in The Golden Gate Bridge recreation area.

A gathering place for friends and family, a fire pit from Fire Pit Art is an heirloom quality piece that looks equally beautiful with fire and without.
