Description
Color Tiles from the Giannini Design Studio
Giannini artisans create these tiles from the same concrete as their cast stone garden ornaments. The tiles will be stained in the finishes you select.
Please allow time for your medallions to fully dry before the package is mailed. This may extend their lead time – the staining of decorative concrete is not an exact science.
✔️ 50% Refund Upon Final Order
Half of your Color Sample order will be refunded back to you upon the purchase of a Giannini garden ornament.
Where Originality Counts
Giannini's color finishes have been specially formulated to change over time and patina as they are exposed to the elements and conditions that surround them.
Giannini's products are photographed in a variety of settings including natural and artificial lighting. When products are viewed in person, the actual color, shape, size and texture will vary from those shown in catalogs, promotional materials, digital screens and on line.
Finishes shown on color medallions, in catalog pictures, promotional materials, on digital screens and online will differ from the finish on the actual products as every single product is handcrafted and painted. Shapes, sizes and textures determine the outcome of the finish.
There are no warranties to the applied finishes or guarantee that the finish will exactly match an actual or photographic color medallion by any media. Giannini's finishes are just another testament to the true beauty of products handcrafted by the Giannini family for over 30 years.

Cold Weather States
While high-density cast stone concrete is designed to produce a strong and durable product, proper maintenance is recommended to protect our product from the freeze-thaw cycles that occur in winter.
Any piece which can hold water, snow or ice, (e.g., fountain top or bowl, birdbath, planter, saucer) AND any piece placed directly onto the ground surface (e.g., statue, fountain/birdbath base, planter, bench leg) can be damaged by the winter freeze-thaw cycles.
Visit our Cleaning & Care page for specific guidance.
Placement & Safety
- A concrete fountain must be placed on a level and firm surface and not raised off the ground more than the inch or two that would occur if using a foundation.
- An authorized Giannini foundation will additionally help prevent unplanned erosion from the weather, sprinkler system, and fountain splash.
- For both safety and optimal performance, do not place fountain on a pedestal or riser, unless included as part of the fountain design.
- If building the fountain into a wall or structure, use professional contractors who understand concrete expansion principles and the required joint spacing and materials to help with the buildup of stress when concrete naturally expands and contracts seasonally.
- Wall Fountains. Giannini wall fountains have a steel bar along the back, near the top. The fountain should be secured to a wall with galvanized wire, chain, etc.
⚠️ CAUTION: Excessive weight or pressure on a concrete fountain may cause it to fall. Keep children & others from climbing, sitting, or leaning on the fountain.
Traditional fountains have no interlocking components and are held together by gravity. Gluing/cementing parts together is not recommended as they may need to be dismantled to replace the pump, hardware, or to relocate the fountain.
Where Originality Counts
- Giannini finishes are made to look like they have always been in your garden or that you found them on an antiquing trip!
- Giannini finishes are also formulated to enhance with the passage of time as they patina from exposure to the elements and conditions around them.
- Remember: these color finishes are stains – not paint. Stains are formulated to enhance and complement the hand-sculpted concrete, not hide it! It’s natural for the cast stone to show through in parts.
Giannini Garden Ornament’s finishes are another testament to the unique beauty of products handcrafted by the Giannini family for more than 30 years.

Color Representation
- Products are photographed in a variety of settings, including natural and artificial lighting.
- When viewed in person, the actual color, shape, size and texture of products will vary from those shown on color medallions and in catalogs, promotional materials, digital screens and online as every single product is handcrafted and painted.
- Curing time, the weather on the day the finish is applied, and material textures all determine the unique outcome of each finish.
These factors add to the uniqueness and authenticity of your product! No two are alike, and variations are normal.
There are no warranties on applied finishes or guarantee that a finish will exactly match a color medallion or media photography.

Hard-to-Reach Addresses for Pallet Shipments
- Most LTL carriers use a standard 28-foot trailer, and it is the driver's discretion if they can safely drive down your street.
- For hard-to-reach addresses (i.e., narrow or dead-end streets) or unusual driveway configurations, some carriers may charge extra or require the shipment to be "rescued" by a different carrier. If this happens, we'll relay the additional cost for which you are responsible.
Help prevent an unplanned extra cost by using the Order & Delivery Instructions box on the Shopping Cart page to give us a heads up about any potential delivery considerations before the order is ready to ship.
➤ When in doubt, opt for the Threshold Upgrade, as this covers a lot of tricky delivery requirements with the freight carrier.
Misc. Delivery Terms (pallet shipments only)
Special Instructions | If there are special delivery instructions for the freight carrier, please let us know at the time of order so accommodations may be made. There may be additional charges for special requests or you may need to make your own delivery accommodations once the piece arrives to your area. This is especially true for high-rise buildings. Cancellation of an order after it arrives and is subsequently determined to be undeliverable is subject to courtesy partial refund only after a Policy Exception is authorized. |
Delivery Appt. & Holds/Storage | Similar to furniture deliveries, the carrier may call you before delivery to schedule drop off. If you commit to an appointment and are not present to accept delivery, or if you confirm a delivery date and subsequently reschedule, a re-delivery fee may be charged for which you are responsible. If the carrier must hold your pallet beyond their standard courtesy period, you are responsible for any storage fees. If a shipment is at risk of being returned to the design studio because you cannot be reached, Fountainful may update the service level to No Signature Required to spare you from shipping costs should a pallet be returned. |
Change of Address | Any fee charged by the carrier for a change/re-consign of the original delivery address is your responsibility. |
Forklift |
A small handful of items will require you to agree to the Forklift Delivery Terms before you can add the item to your cart. In these cases, the pallet(s) cannot be lowered on the lift gate and must be removed from the truck with a forklift. Plan ahead by contacting a local contractor or small equipment rental outfit (e.g., Lowes) if you're not already working with a landscaper who has this equipment. |
Always inspect your delivery. See the Refund Policy for a Delivery Inspection Checklist.

From their family studio in Northern California, Giannini Garden Ornaments has been producing beautiful, Italian inspired pieces since 1993. Founded by Marino and Piera Giannini, their first designs were hanging wall fountains, planters, and small garden ornaments. As a truly hands-on business, it takes two to three months to take one of Marino’s drawings from start to finish and involves a skilled process of hand sculpting and mold making.
When the mold is ready for production, it's filled with a slurry of high-quality cement, aggregates, water, steel, synthetic fibers, and additives to ensure strength and durability. The product is then cured and finished with one of their beautiful signature colors applied by hand.
