Functional Art for Your Plants
Each Ipanema Planter is hand thrown from natural clay using traditional artisanal techniques and high-fired at 990° to 1,000° centigrade to aid in frost resistance and durability (see tips in Resources & Care/Warranty section below).
Part of the Antico Collection, this planter set is created from a buff/brown clay with a soft, weathered antique patina. Warm natural earth tones add balance and texture to both traditional and contemporary surroundings.

Pro Placement Tip
Terra cotta, earthenware, and the inside of glazed planters are slightly porous to aid plant growth. However, a porous surface means care should be taken to protect wood and delicate surfaces. Glazed, sealed terra cotta, or polyethylene saucers are recommended to protect your placement surface. Water resistant cork mats can also be used as added protection.

Resources
Cleaning
- Clean with either mild soapy water or specialized products such as Windex®
- Mild, soapy water is recommended for terra cotta planters.
- Spray down the surface and use a lint-free cloth or sponge to wipe the surface.
- Do not pressure wash, use alcohol based cleaners, apply corrosive cleaners or clean with anything abrasive.
Cold Weather States
While these natural clay pieces are high-fired to help with frost resistance, proper planting is essential in climates with freeze-thaw cycles to help prevent the planter from breaking.
The simplest way to protect a planter in winter is to store the item in a dry place out of the elements. However, if they are to be left outdoors in winter, please follow the guidance on page 1 of the above General Care document.

- Delivered on a pallet via LTL freight truck (similar to large furniture).
- Placed near the bottom of your driveway, wherever you direct.
- Signature by someone over 18 is almost always required.
- Does not include setup, assembly, or disposal of packaging.
UPS Insured / USPS Priority – Free
- Automatically selected for small/light items delivered in a parcel box by UPS or USPS.
- When ordered with a palletized item, the design team may include it on the pallet if possible so both arrive together.
Upgrade: Threshold / Inside Property – Rates Provided at Checkout
- Same as Standard Shipping, except the carrier will cross your property line (threshold) and lower the pallet outside the first dry area (e.g., garage, covered porch).
- Sometimes referred to as "Top of Driveway."
- Does not include setup, assembly, or disposal of packaging.

Hard-to-Reach Addresses (Pallet Shipments)
- Most LTL carriers use 28-foot trailers. Drivers decide if your street is accessible.
- Narrow, dead-end, or unusual driveways may require extra charges or a different carrier. We will relay any additional cost to you.
