Learn More: Leveraging the Splash Apron
The splash apron acts as a "funnel" to help prevent water loss when it splashes outside of the fountain's designated area. This, in turn, reduces the frequency of refilling the water basin. The splash apron can be installed after the fountain is setup and is most commonly used with the Size XL Sugar Kettle.
Tips from the Engineer team:
- Make sure the ground is sloped back towards the basin and then the splash apron will be able to direct water back to the basin.
- Make sure the apron overlaps the side of the basin and allows water to return to the basin.

Delivery Methods That Appear at Checkout
"Standard Shipping" – Free to our customers

- Placed near the bottom of the driveway and off to one side, wherever you direct.

"UPS Insured" or "USPS Priority" – Free to our customers
- Automatically selected for small/light items that are delivered in a parcel box by UPS or the U.S. Mail.
- When ordered in addition to a palletized item, the design team will include it on the pallet if possible so that both items arrive together.

- Does not include setup, assembly, or package disposal.

Hard-to-Reach Addresses for Pallet Shipments
- Most LTL carriers use a standard 28-foot trailer, and it is the driver's discretion if they can safely drive down your street.
- For hard-to-reach addresses (i.e., narrow or dead-end streets) or unusual driveway configurations, some carriers may charge extra or require the shipment to be "rescued" by a different carrier. If this happens, we'll relay the additional cost for which you are responsible.
Help prevent an unplanned extra cost by using the Order & Delivery Instructions box on the Shopping Cart page to give us a heads up about any potential delivery considerations before the order is ready to ship.
➤ When in doubt, opt for the Threshold Upgrade, as this covers a lot of tricky delivery requirements with the freight carrier.
Misc. Delivery Terms (pallet shipments only)
Special Instructions | If there are special delivery instructions for the freight carrier, please let us know at the time of order so accommodations may be made. There may be additional charges for special requests or you may need to make your own delivery accommodations once the piece arrives to your area. This is especially true for high-rise buildings. Cancellation of an order after it arrives and is subsequently determined to be undeliverable is subject to courtesy partial refund only after a Policy Exception is authorized. |
Delivery Appt. & Holds/Storage | Similar to furniture deliveries, the carrier may call you before delivery to schedule drop off. If you commit to an appointment and are not present to accept delivery, or if you confirm a delivery date and subsequently reschedule, a re-delivery fee may be charged for which you are responsible. If the carrier must hold your pallet beyond their standard courtesy period, you are responsible for any storage fees. If a shipment is at risk of being returned to the design studio because you cannot be reached, Fountainful may update the service level to No Signature Required to spare you from shipping costs should a pallet be returned. |
Change of Address | Any fee charged by the carrier for a change/re-consign of the original delivery address is your responsibility. |
Forklift |
A small handful of items will require you to agree to the Forklift Delivery Terms before you can add the item to your cart. In these cases, the pallet(s) cannot be lowered on the lift gate and must be removed from the truck with a forklift. Plan ahead by contacting a local contractor or small equipment rental outfit (e.g., Lowes) if you're not already working with a landscaper who has this equipment. |
Always inspect your delivery. See the Refund Policy for a Delivery Inspection Checklist.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
I am looking at a medium sugar kettle fountain, as an anniversary gift for my wife but I cannot run power to the location where she wants it installed. Do you offer a simple solar pump option?
There are no comparable solar pumps that the Engineers would recommend for this Sugar Kettle feature. The Medium kettle requires a pump rated at 7,800 gallons-per-hour, which is nearly impossible to find in a solar pump. The pump cord for this fountain is 25-feet long, and you can use electrical conduit from a hardware store to bury the pump cord and an extension cord for the length they required. Conduit provides a good option, as we would never recommend burying the cord without protection.
-
Does this kettle have pre-drilled holes for the pump wiring?
Yes, the kettle is pre-drilled to accomodate the tubing and pump cord. Feel free to reference page 4 of the installation manual for some visuals, and give us a call if we can talk through anything else.
-
What is the 'splash apron'?
Thank you for the question! The splash apron acts as a "funnel" to help prevent water loss when it splashes outside of the fountain's designated area. This, in turn, reduces the frequency of refilling the water basin. The splash apron can be installed after the fountain is setup.
Official Description: the 8-foot sq. apron will help to prevent water loss from your fountain by extending beyond the perimeter of your basin, capturing and returning water that would otherwise end up in the surrounding landscape. You can custom cut and tailor the apron to fit around your fountain(s) and trim any additional that is not needed.
